LIQUITEX Acrylic Medium 8 oz Select Type
Although acrylic paints can be used straight from the tube, mediums encourage experimentation while retaining binding quality and flexibility. Mediums can further impart a gloss or matte sheen to acrylic paints on non-absorbent surfaces such as gessoed canvas.
A very thick gel medium that extends working time and increases
brilliance and transparency. Mix with acrylic paint to increase body and
attain oil paint like consistency that holds brush or palette knife
marks. Also makes an excellent glue for collage and decoupage.
(String gel: a self leveling gel
with honey-like consistency. Gently pouring yields a long,
constant-flowing string of gel. Mix with acrylic color for interesting
application affects, to enhance depth of color, and to increase
transparency and flow. Mixed with acrylic color and brushed, color
follows the brush creating long streaking effects.
